Mission Statement:

Empowering communities through compassion and action, Caring for a Cause (CFAC) stands as a beacon of hope in Henry, Butts, Lamar, Pike, Newton, and Spalding counties. Since 2010, our grassroots efforts, sparked by a group of dedicated baseball moms in Locust Grove, Georgia, have raised millions of dollars to support local families facing pediatric cancer, terminal illnesses, food insecurity and hardships during the holidays. With our creed #loveoneanother, inspired by the timeless directive of Jesus in John 13:34, we are committed to fostering a culture of care and generosity, ensuring no one faces adversity alone.

We do approximately 12-15 fundraisers per year. Most of these being designated for a particular family and the event planned and catered around them. Once an event is completed, we continue to walk beside them along their journey. Typically, the families stay well connected and support other fighters at their events.  Through the years we've had the privilege of supporting several families in the planning of funerals.  This is a heartbreaking time, and we are honored to sit with them and take care of the expense when insurance is not available. At times we have to offer continued support for families, especially when it is a single parent situation as these journey's are long and taxing both emotionally and financially.

All of our benefactors receive a handmade quilt that represents their favorite things from one of our community partners. All of our cancer families are also invited to a weekend getaway at The Great Wolf Lodge that is put on by one of our non-profit sponsors Thumbs Up.

In addition to fundraisers, we also have two other programs:

Backpack Buddies - We provide food bags for children on Friday's that are food insecure.  Currently we serve right at 300 and look to add another 200 next school year.

Christmas Kindness - For 13 years we have gathered families in need and paired them with families to sponsor them for Christmas.  We have a magical party where everyone, both giving and receiving share a meal, program and lots of fun Christmas experiences including Santa!!  This last year over 200 children experienced the magic of Christmas and the Hope of Jesus.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Any donations are tax deductible and very much appreciated as they help us to continue to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
